Dangerous river bar crossings evaluation tool
Bar crossings at coastal river mouths are notoriously dangerous. To improve vessel safety Shoretech has created an automated camera system that detects dangerous boating conditions. Shoretech’s system automatically finds the safest vessel path through time averaged danger regions and indicates the minimum safety margin a vessel would experience if making a transit. The video below shows the system working for the Tweed River in 10 minute intervals. In early 2022 we used this technology to assess boating hazards at the Manning River Entrance, NSW, for our client Rhelm. We can also provide vessel counting and tracking through river entrances.
